A Loving Tribute

Ed Loew and Joyce Wilson

Alumnus Edmund A. Loew, Jr., established an endowed scholarship to honor the memory of his wife, Joyce Wilson Loew.

Edmund A. Loew, Jr., attended Park from 1951 to 1953, transferring to the University of Arizona for his bachelor’s degree before heading to theological seminary.

In 1956, his future bride, Joyce Wilson Loew, graduated with a dual major in piano performance and music education. After graduation, she went to Arizona to teach band and chorus in a rural high school and to his surprise, they re-met at church. They were married in August of '57.

In May 2021, Ed established the Joyce Wilson Loew scholarship in Joyce’s memory. The endowed scholarship will be awarded to students with a major in music or education with a music minor or enrolled as a graduate candidate in piano performance.

Ed says, “Joyce was a wonderful mother and musician, and this was an ideal way to celebrate and remember her this Mother’s Day.”

If you have a loved one who has been impacted by Park University, establishing a memorial or tribute gift is a meaningful way to honor them or celebrate a special occasion, such as a birthday, while supporting our mission.
